If you are ever in a bind for the perfect find of Thai go no further than Jasmine Thai in Ventura. If you are near this beach town hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Santa Monica and could use a break from paying for parking and dealing with over crowded streets when just trying to get a little break from THE CITY, then come to Ventura and make two stops.
Stop number 1: Jasmine Thai. Though it's not located in downtown it is worth stopping over in before you head to downtown.
Warning: You will be tempted by the other Thai places that are located in downtown. DO NOT GO IN THERE. They will never compare to the amazing flavor you will find at Jasmine. Consider this a strong and firm warning. I don't want to hear from anyone who breaks this rule. Boo hoo for you if you do.
Stop number 2: Downtown Ventura
Now after an amazing lunch you can head over to downtown and walk the Main St and California St and take in all the local art galleries and museums. They are not too big like L.A. but you won't get tired in one spot and you will see more shops since they are all very close together.
Back to the Thai food.
Jasmine Thai has an amazing chef. Yes even better than Tep Thai. I'm only considering the food. Not the extra details. They could use some modern decor and upscale atmosphere, so in the overall BEST Thai I say Tep Thai still has it. But that's another blog coming soon.
So Jasmine Thai has what I call the the Super Secret menu. They call it their Fusion Menu. They serve up some of their most interesting flavors when you go with the Fusion Menu. But if you do order from the normal everyday menu you will still be impressed. Their food presentation is fresh and always makes you feel you are eating something special. The flavors don't disappoint. See for yourself.
